Mademoiselle aprueba la versión número 5 de la fragancia y decide mantener este número como un simple nombre. Para este nuevo producto, eligió un frasco radical, adornado con una etiqueta blanca y un cabujón facetado. En 1986, Jacques Polge, perfumista de CHANEL desde 1978, reinterpretó la división olfativa de su predecesor para presentar una versión más amplia de N°5: el eau de parfum.
